i am not saying that eggs fried in bacon grease are the most awesomest thing...
...aw, hell, so I am!
Camp toast!Only way to complete that is to fry bread in the remaining grease.
Now onto Blackeyed Peas.
My roommate in grad school taught me about blackeyed peas on New Years Day. He was from Georgia. And he said it was for good luck, in the new year.
Since then, I've hankered for blackeye peas every New Year's Day. But living in the North, the opportunity does not always present itself. So I suffer through the year, bad luck and all.
You don't have canned black eyed peas where you live?
You have to use turkey bacon first.so, I only recently found out that you can BAKE bacon. please enlighten me on this bacon grease thingamajiggy y'all are talking about. what do I do?

Fry the bacon in a skillet. Remove and set in a paper towel to drain. Crack eggs into warm skillet still in stove, and cook as desired. Bacon grease in the pan minimizes eggs sticking to the skillet, and maximizes the taste!
If you bake the bacon, or fry it, remove the bacon and tip the container into an empty jar, small bowl, ramekin, etc., and drain as much if the bacon drippings as possible. Use it later as described in the first paragraph by letting it melt in the skillet while heating it to cook.
Yum!!
hhmm, ok. I already do the first thing u mentioned.......cook the bacon, take it out then fry an egg in the same pan. never done the second thing. so basically instead of butter or oil, ur taking some of that bacony goop and slapping it in the pan instead? sounds kinda good!
Was trying to confuse eman. Didn't work I guess.Huh? You lost me . . . Pork fat rules!
"We" don't eat those things. LOLWhy do we eat black-eyed peas, hog jowls and greens on New Year's Day

While that is very good, spaghetti carbonara may actually be better. Panchetta (bacon), eggs, cheese, spaghetti.i am not saying that eggs fried in bacon grease are the most awesomest thing...

And, if you splash the grease over the top of the egg you can make an over easy egg without flipping it...
Nope! That's basting it.

Don't tell me you've been throwing away liquid gold into the trash? Horrors of horrors!
Old school popcorn cooked on the stove top in bacon freese. Top with a little salt and dash of black pepper.
