I know the regs so?

which drone should I buy?
Purely for fun.
easy to use.

DJI Mavic Mini. Yes, made in China, but DJI makes the best; as easy to fly as anything else you will buy.
249 grams- no need to register it with the FAA.
Decent pictures, not too expensive at around $400, but it doesn't have the sensors of more expensive ones to avoid objects.

Don't be like those people who have made drones as welcome as selfie sticks in most places.

Seriously, though, the DJI drones are most popular. They had a mini one at Costco.

I have been doing my home work and watching the videos, and have decided on the. HS720

U-tube watch

Thanks

We wanted to stay below $250.00

WoW !
DJI MAVIC PRO 2. $1600. +. no.

at about the same price, from Amazon.
we are 50 miles away from Costco / Amazon 2 day, free delivery.
I'm less and less happy with Costco these days for a variety of reasons.

Tom, the HS720 is a good choice. If it has a weakness it is that it doesn't have a gymbol for image stabilization so it relies on electronic stabilization alone. That limits its ability to record smooth video in winds. Otherwise is pretty good. Consider a 2nd battery as 20 minutes battery life goes by pretty quickly (I know the claim is 26 minutes, but such claims are usually optimistic).

If you want an alternative suggestion, consider the SG906 Pro 2 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HPPY86...0-pcomp-feature-scomp-wm-5&ref=aa_scomp_sosp1). About $50 less, has a 2 axis camera gymbol, and otherwise similar specs to the HS720. Make sure it is the Pro 2. It has a full 3 axis gymbol where the Pro has only 2 axis. The latter is good, but the former is better.

With either, make sure that you have a capable phone for viewing the video real time and controlling the more sophisticated features. Recent processor and 5 gHz wifi.

Neither or them will provide as smooth an experience as a DJI. The controlling app will be a little less stable and less frequently updated. There will be glitches in the operation. Nothing terrible that can't be corrected by rebooting or some workaround. But not the better DJI experience.

We don't expect perfect videos, and the DJI drones are expensive.

the SG906 pro 2 is on the list.

Thanks for the help.
