Cool B-25 and B-1 fly over happening at the AF Museum today. Can't wait!

I had an interesting coincidence 2 years ago. I had visited the National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg, Texas. On exhibit is the Hornet's ship log containing the entries of each B-25 launch. Two weeks later I was shaking hands with Doolittle's Co-pilot, Lt. Dick Cole at the Houston Airshow at Ellington AFB. It is one of those moments I will never ever forget. He is now 101 years old and the last surviving member of the 80 brave men that thought they were on a one way mission.

They had a nice event at Grimes Field (Urbana OH.) over the Easter weekend. They were expecting approx. 17 B-25's. Don't know how many made it there, but they sure were busy! They flew down to WPAFB either today or yesterday for an event down there. Lt. Dick Cole will be in attendance. Wish I could have gone!

For those of you who are on Facebook, check out Mid America Flight Museum's page. They took their B-25 and they have some cool pics and videos of the trip.

I am at KMGY getting maintenance done on the plane. Hope I can see them from here.

Hope you were able to see them. They departed the museum runway, flew out to the NW and then turned south and the. East paralleling WP! Before forming up and coming back around west to east at 2:15 right on time over the museum and base. Pretty amazing site to see that many in formation all at the same time. Didn't stay at work long enough to see the B-1. Seen it several time come across at .9M hit the AB and pitch up to about 40 degs for a max unlimited climb.

I had the honor of speaking to LtCol Cole last year during the CAF airshow at their new home base, KRBD.

Although he has hearing issues, LtCol Cole was most gracious, taking the time to speak with every person that was in line to meet him.
