Donald, Donald, Donald

Simply working the system. Hard for me to care much. Sometimes you have to do stupid things to comply with stupid rules.

You can "jump in front" of others waiting for a passport by showing an airline booking with a foreign itinerary, or a letter from your employer stating that you need to be ready to leave the country as a function of your job. Same sort of thing. And the part about putting the airplane in a corporation with a generic name; most companies do that.

Such scandal, revealed by the type of crack reporting that only the NYT can do.

"Working the system" may be perceived as questionable to most of us, but it's generally not, and is likely practiced by most successful companies in one way or another. It's tough to compete in any industry where everyone else works the system (legally) but you choose to abstain on principle.

When I bought my plane, I immediately got a 90 day temp registration with no interaction of the FAA or a trip to Canada, Why was this any different for him?

Maybe I missed it but I didn't see anywhere in the article where they inferred that it was scandalous or questioned the ethicacy of The Donald's move. They just reported the event with a neutral tone.

Did I miss something?

What a lame operation. He has phony corporations laying around just in case and an army of lawyers to get him out of a jam and find these "loopholes", but can't be bothered to hire one guy to make sure the $5 registration is payed on time for his business jet. Talk about inefficiency!!!

America is going to be great again for sure. A great big mess.

Meh, whatever, frankly I think the whole having to renew this is a crock of chit anyways.

And as for the Trumpster, he actually has accomplished more than most of the others, and in the private sector too, which I find far more impressive.

It's seems like most of the media is very left wing, even google news which tends to show left wing stories over center to right wing, I mean they even have articles from the huff post on the front page.

You're right- had managed to bankrupt more companies than I can count. That's quite an accomplishment. ;)

Just playing the game, look at how many jobs he was created in his own companies, compare that to the others who just cash government checks and opine on how others should live their lives for a living.

Maybe, but the loopholes are there. He's already paying the lawyers anyway. I know more than a few people that would rather throw mountains of cash trying to find an alternate way of doing what requires basically very little effort.

Jobs he created that were filled by undocumented foreign laborers? Of jobs created in overseas sweatshops seeing his clothing line? I thought people would see through this guy in a heartbeat.

The fact that you can't count to four says a lot more about you than Trump.

Oh, dear. I'm doomed. Doomed, I say. I'm so worried how I might compare to Drumpf in a side-by-side. Let's see... Who has more divorces? Well, I have zero, so he wins that one. Who has more airplanes? He wins, again. Who has more enemies? Hmmm... Toss up.

Like I said, an inefficient and stupid way of doing business.

This will invariably turn into a ****ing match but it will illicit a few chuckles along the way...
Trying to see what you can get away with here? It was a non-story to begin with.

What this story points out (to those of us who deal with this particular bureaucracy) is how ludicrous the FAA's re-registration system is. You have this tight little window of time during which you can re-register the plane.

Lost the postcard with the magic code? Outta luck. Missed the date? Outta luck.

I know someone (someone we all know) who "sold" his plane to secure a speedy re-registration; sold to an LLC.

And, I can have a new LLC or corporation established in about an hour; it ain't no big deal.

I have yet to see anything showing he hired illegals.

And if you're going to blame anyone who does business over seas, well that would take out nearly every company. Heck look at all the money the millitary makes overseas. Compare that to the others, a socialist (which no one who ever actually lived in a socialistic state would ever vote for), and a compulsive liar, this election is really not about picking the best person, just the lesser evil.

Personally I know they all are going to make a mess out of stuff, I just vote for the person who I believe will best keep government out of my life and my paycheck.

You'll get no argument from me on that one :). I think pride has something to do with it, that or general laziness....

I'd wager somehow that postcard went AWOL and with the election in full swing he doesn't have time to play the FAAs registration game.

As others said this isn't anything a million of us little people can't do with a couple hundred bucks and a hour or two.

Who here realizes that the president doesn't have the power under the constitution to do anything they say they will. besides,,, we vote for the candidate that lies to us the best.

Seriously? You are asking me this?

The atmosphere here is not my doing...

Non story or not...it is aviation related and germane to many discussion of the FAA.
Anything past that is of your own construct.

You're right. Can you tell me exactly how many companies he has ran were bankrupted vs not? I'm guessing you have no clue about Drumpf's history. He's a real swell guy. ;)
I can't.
I don't care.
You are flinging boogers...you tell US...
I am not having any discussion about Mr. Trump...but feel free to...

I didn't know you could expedite with a foreign itinerary, that's good to know! Everyone plays the game, some are better at it than others. It's not like he cut in front of someone at the buffet, it will still take everyone else 30+ days, I imagine the FAA has someone dedicated to do these "rush" registrations. So, it's not a big deal.

Women sometimes tell the best lies.

Yes, I'm asking you that. The title of your thread is in no way aviation related and from your initial comment you knew you were stirring the pot.

That's actually kind of amusing to think about. Donald Trump actually opening his own mail and paying his bills himself. I can see him there at this tiny little desk in a yuuge room with a green shaded table lamp, opening a stack of letters on the left with his drug store reading glasses on. Then on the right is a checkbook, a pen and a roll of stamps. You would think he would hire a book keeper to do that, but I guess that's how he got rich...

Your superpowers are astounding. Can you leap tall buildings in addition to supposing motives?

I'd wager one of his people lost the post card, I can only imagine the volume of mail his office probably gets, and it's not like the FAA has any follow up stuff, or emails they send, it's one little post card.

Personally the only people this makes look bad is the FAA and their ridiculous registration campaign.

"Drumpf"

I've heard this a few times recently. What's the origin? What's the insult supposed to be? I'm sure there is an insult but I don't get it.

Not really an insult. It is the name he was born with, but he legally changed it. Of all the things to dislike The Donald for, this one doesn't register with me. If I were named Drumpf I'd prolly change it too.

Chances are Trump had nothing to do with this other than being told he couldn't use the jet anymore followed by him telling someone to fix it.
