Don’t always get notifications?

Noticed something weird today - a lot of threads have been updated after I posted, but I don’t get notified unless the response quotes my message.

But not always. Sometimes it does notify me.

Is this user error?

How do you have your alert preference set? Mine are not set to be notified when a thread is updated. I'm not sure what the default is, but you can change it on this page. If you want to be notified, check the first box. I don't know why it sometimes notifies you and sometimes not. Maybe you meet another parameter. There is another place, under "preferences" where you can set an email alert.

Yeah, check your alert preferences.

I find it’s way easier to auto-subscribe to the threads that I reply to and then just use the watched threads link to first check the conversations that I’ve participated in before wading into new threads.
