Does everything cause cancer?

This subject hits a little close to home. My mom had cancer, but the surgery apparantly cured it as she has been cancer free for well over 5 years. My dad died (at home with hospice care) of complications from pancreatic cancer. Next month will be the third anniversary of my surgery for prostate cancer (PSA still undetectable!). Treatments have improved since I was a kid, but it's still a serious issue.

Did you take the warning seriously and use proper protective measures like wearing gloves and a particulate mask? Don't forget to continue to wear the mask while the wood is burning in your fireplace. I wish my state would protect me as much as California protects it's citizens.

Sure I do. After I don the anti-C suit I check with the Air Quality Management District to see if I'm allowed to burn today then check the local ord to see if today is an approved day.:D

Do you wear gloves & a mask when working a 150 sq ft piece of your yard contaminated with year old dried dog poo? I've actually had a family member suggest that to me.

I think california causes cancer. Everytime I see anything new it has some damned "known to the state of california to cause cancer" on it. Based on the things I have and do and how I behave, I'm pretty sure I'm not even allowed into that country at this point.

California is a cancer.

...SNIP...
Does virtually everything in modern life cause cancer? And when did this start?
Yeah, pretty much. 100 years ago, death was by natural causes. It was presumed you died because your body just wore out. The "natural causes" were never clearly defined.
Today, science has a way of defining practically everything. It seems to make people feel better if they know why someone died. I hope when my OBIT is written, it will say "natural causes". If not, I'm coming back! I don't want cancer of any kind, nor do I wish any kind on even my worst enemy.
Tonight's news reported styrofoam cause cancer. I'm sure in a few weeks that will get debunked. Weeks later, yet another commonly used item, like ball point pens, will be proven to cause cancer. Given enough of anything, it will kill you.
