Flying home from Dad's birthday party weekend last night. Stormscope was looking very grumpy as we approached Omaha and I had seen a bunch of isolated T storms along with a few big blobs on radar when we took off. Omaha didn't sound very optimistic and the lady at flight service was even less so. It sounded like there was half a hope of going west and maybe being able to get around it. So i headed for Lincoln and started texting Jesse for some real time help. He didn't have much good to say except that the storm had just passed Lincoln. I told him to meet us at the airport and we'd have supper.

We had some pretty nifty turbulence between Omaha and Lincoln but once we got out of the clouds it smoothed out. I haven't checked on Great Grandmas painted china yet...

Jesse walked into the FBO as we were walking into the ramp. Said he stepped outside his house and looked up to see us on downwind.

Radar didn't get any better while we ate and the prog for the AM was good so off to Casa Angell we went. It's the house with icicles hanging year round.

Woke up at 5 this AM and had a nice smooth flight home.

Thanks Jesse and Danielle. I don't care what Spike says, you're OK!
 
It was good to see the both of you. Glad you had the pleasure of driving the 260k mile S10. It's kind of ugly, has four bad tires, and the AC makes all kinds of racket. But other than that it's a hell of a truck.

Should have told me about the Woodies party, would have flown the Deb up.

Next time I'll be sure to call Center and I'll just let them know that I'll be providing you vectors via them. I think I could account for the Flightaware delay.

I was at Duncan at KLNK last Wednesday morning about 4:30AM. How come Jesse didn't meet me?
 
You probably also had the pleasure of sleeping on the air mattress suitable for a permanent living room. I slept on that same air mattress some years ago.

Certainly, Lincoln is an excellent Hotel PoA location.
 
yea we got the air mattress. with incredible foresight Jesse ordered a mattress and bought a bed for that room. it was delivered today.

To be honest it was a diversion from Omaha, so no advance notice possible.
At the same time, I would NEVER ask anyone to meet me at 4:30AM:no:
 
yea i know next time i need to plan ahead a little better. by the time we got done w/supper and decided to spend the night it was basically bedtime so we could be only semi-zombie for the early morning flight to wichita
