Hey all -

I'm in DFW for the the next week - landed late last night and departing early Friday morning.

My schedule is pretty flexible this week, no real commitments yet (doesn't mean some will not come up) - I'm staying in Westlake just off of 114 at off Solana Rd, but anything works for me.

Dinner, a brew, or just some good old Hangar Talk works for me. What do your weeks look like?

Cheers,

-Andrew

Andrew:

I'm up for Wednesday; best not tonight (my 24th anniversary!), Tuesday (have a trade group mtg) or Thursday night (date-night with my wife, while Tomster's outtatown for school nature camp).

Let's see who else is lively... maybe I make you fly with me and shoot approaches!

Hmm. I'm not sure what to think. Either a) "Good times!" or b) "Spike, full deflection on the localizer is not what I'd call 'precision'"

Anything works! I've actually always wondered what DFW looks like from something other than a AA spam can.

Cheers,

-Andrew

Wednesday may work for me, but I'll be rushing around; leaving town the next morning for five days at SIMCOM. I'll need to pack; flight plan etc. Won't be able to share a brew, but can eat some dinner if you'd like.

Best,

Dave

Dave:

Let me check with Wifie- WX-allowing (which, looks like it will), maybe we go over to Hard 8? 87MT and 16W both show available as of now (if you can stand the possibility of flying with only one mill).

Not I this week - the only possibility is Friday, but I've got a bunch of stuff on the list already for Fri.

I was through DFW last night, wish I'd known - coulda stopped and said hello.

Odds are you were out before I was in - I didn't even get in the rental until almost 10:00 local. Landed at 8:30p CST, 25 minute wait for gate, wait for baggage...

You flying yourself or spending lots of time in the back?

Cheers,

-Andrew

Just watch him close on his ADF approaches :hairraise:

Ouch!

I flew one a few weeks back, NDB 17, HQZ, full-procedure with a hold on the missed, and it was great. Course, it was in the simulator... :D

I was completely kidding, you are one of only a handful that I would entrust with my family in a small plane.

I'll be in Addison Wednesday night. Planning on having dinner with a customer at one of the many restaurants on Belt Line Rd. If you all don't fly off someplace, maybe I could join you.
I'm flying into GKY, staying Weds night at hotel in Addison and then a night or two with my mother in Arlington.

Lance... may I suggest III Forks? Always have had success when taking clients there!

Let's all keep tight on the plans, see what develops.

Spike, I'm down for whatever. Tell me what the fuel share $ is and we'll make it happen, or, where you'd like to go locally, or if you'd like me to pound sand. Westlake isn't exactly a bastion of fun, except for being under the DFW approaches...

Cheers,

-Andrew

I just can't attend for long; have to pack, flight plan and get some business done before leaving town. Could to a quick dinner or just some coffee and hanger talk. Would like to see everyone, but don't want to ruin any other plans.

Best,

Dave

Spike, what's your fancy? Sounds like it would be the two of us flying, or a group of us hangar flying. I'm out of here about 4:30-5ish local, plus a 10 minute shuttle ride back to the hotel. Figure it's about 30 or so minutes to the ADS area from Westlake at that time of day; assuming the Turnpike isn't blown to shreds...

Cheers,

Yep. We were actually on-time for this trip.

You flying yourself or spending lots of time in the back?

In back, unfortunately.

So, it's Wednesday... do we know where our pilots are eating? :)

Cheers,

-Andrew

I'm also curious. Won't be able to check email again until about 5 pm.

Lance, PM me your phone #. I'll give you a call and leave a VM if we get somewhere during the day...

Guys, as you know, there are all sorts of good choices around Addison. Chillis' is affordable and off runway 15. Mi Piaci is the Italian I like; bit more expensive; May Dragon is good Chinese. Plenty of steak places, but I just can't stay more than an hour or so.

Pick what you want, and let's meet there at 6 or 6:30.

Best,

Dave

Spike, what do you think? Chili's works, I had italian for lunch, tex mex is great, any german places around? (I've heard that the german food down here is acutally pretty good...)

6:30 works better for me - I'm thinking that at rush hour it may take me a while longer to hit ADS from down here in Westlake.

Cheers,

-Andrew
