Macon County Airport, NC (1A5):
Donno about Franklin (where that little airport is)... We went to Bryson City and Smoky Mountains for a couple days, and drove Blue Ridge Parkway to Asheville... Thought about flying to and from Asheville but 1A5 approach is way cooler .interesting........anything fun to do around there?
Macon County Airport, NC (1A5):
Took a friend and his 2 daughters on their first small plane ride yesterday.
They absolutely loved every minute.
This may be the best part of flying right here
Up to the Red river to look at the flooding
Trinity River also out of its banks
Grab some fuel
Flew to Dinner, waited out a small storm and had a night flight back home.
Freakin Great day!
Cherokee is about 40-45 mins of driving away. There's another airport only half as far - Jackson Country 24A. I have not been there, but it also looks cool: https://www.flickr.com/photos/livemusicphotography/11040284746 . The only problem with it is that it's unattended, and Enterprise doesn't deliver cars there on weekends.Teddy How close is that to Cherokee. Not that I love poker or anything but a flight up there could be fun.
