Yesterday I made a short flight to KFFC because Diamond had the full mock up of their DJet on display.
It's really unique and not what Eclipse et al are trying to do. This is a 4 seat personal airplane that will be certified for 5. The rear seat is kind of a bench seat and will be certified to hold 3 people, but forget that. Fold down the wide center armrest which has cup holders and storage compartment just like a Lexus or BMW and you have a great setup for 2 people. The copilot seat swivels 180 degrees, which gives the rear a semi club seating look...a great idea.
The cockpit is awesome. 3 HUGE flat panel displays by Garmin dominate things. Control is by conventional yoke.
There is outside only accessible baggage storage in the nose and in the tail, plus room behind the rear seat. Golf clubs would be no problem, but I didn't see any way to handle skis.
There is lots of headroom throughout the whole cabin.
We have a guy at our airport with position #55. They've taken deposits on about 145 so far.
If I had a spare 1.5 mil, I'd be tempted.
