I'm happy with the avionics upgrade for my '73 Piper Cherokee Six 300, but the original plastic panel is a mess.

Any recommendations on where to get a custom replacement panel fabricated at a fair price?

I'm also interested shop recommendations for updating the carpet and seats.

Any pireps would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I was going to comment on the 1950s mental hospital color but I didn't. Check out those fans!

Oh crap, I said that out loud didn't I?

I thought it looks cool

I love these bright panel colors of the 70’s and 80’s. Black and gray is so boring.

I've seen quite a few of the plastic overlays painted. Cheap and easy.
(and patched.) I've also seen them removed entirely, which would depend on what's behind it.

On another note, how do you like your Avidyne?

I love the IFD550. Works beautifully with my Garmin G5's and my old AutoControl III autopilot. My only complaint is that the Jepp data is expensive. I opted to only license North America Nav and Terrain and NOT the approach plates/taxi diagrams. I get everything else I need with my Foreflight subscription. It's hard to read a plate or taxi diagram on that screen size/resolution anyway.

The more I come back to this thread, the more that color starts to grow on me.

Thanks, Murphey. I just flew over Alamosa this past weekend coming back from the AOPA Sante Fe Fly-in!
