You posted a link to a FAQ. So, exactly one post in the thread relates to the title. That being your post with the link to a FAQ.

Are you perhaps getting the point of my prior observation, yet? I can restate it for you if you'd like. Not really much to ask.

So is Vermont. I'm over 65, but do not expect to get my first shot until MAYBE April.

There goes my theory about it being better in states with smaller populations...

Ah man, that’s ridiculous and irresponsible on the administers part. Hoping things work out for them!

Why leave it to chance? I’d be camped out at their office tomorrow until I had an appointment.

Most facilities that administer these vaccines use a software to record the demographics and upload it into the states vaccine information system. Chances are, two weeks from now, your parents will receive either an email or a text reminder with a link to register for one of the '2nd shot' appointments reserved for that purpose.
 
I just finished my 45 minute state-mandated training on how to give vaccines. I guess our county is doing a better job than most in mobilizing volunteers. If there are any medical providers out there the medical reserve corps is a good way to volunteer and be part of the solution. They’re even taking EMTs and paramedics as vaccinators.

She’s checking the website everyday for a spot. Unfortunately the testing site is an hour away so it’s not really feasible to do that. Hopefully it works out
 
I got my second vaccination last week. Arm didn't hurt, but about 18 hours late I was running a little fever and had associated muscle aches. That lasted about 6 hours...when I woke up next morning, I felt fine.

The other day, my wife happened to notice on the local hospital's Facebook page that vaccinations were being offered to whatever tier she's in (she just turned 65). She called and they scheduled her for the first vaccination tomorrow. Pretty simple process. I'm sure it varies from location to location, state to state.

Yes - I am "registered' with both the County Health Dept and the Pharmacy I use. However, no word on appointments yet from either.

I guess things are a little better organized here in NC. I had my first injection last week...they issued me a card showing me my proof of vaccination and appointment card showing my second injection date, place and time.

I think using IV certified EMT's is a good idea if necessary...
 
As far as setting up appointments online in NC, Davidson County....if you are computer savvy and think fast, you might secure an appointment online when they become available. The website is not very intuitive and 700-800 appointments will all fill up in a couple minutes after the website opens. You should read the info on the website BEFORE it becomes active....if you have a family member who does not have an email account, they will need one to register.

Once I arrived at our community college campus where the vaccinations were administered, I was impressed with the organization and staff. It took about one hour to get the shot including the wait time post injection.

There is no shortage of Nursing Assistants and up qualified to give vaccinations around here. As a physician, I don't think I have ever given a shot of any kind in my career. Certainly doesn't look like I need to start now.

A friend in an adjacent county to mine was able to call yesterday and get an appointment for today. My county, however, has a wait list with 100,000 people on it. And another out in the Valley just held a mass vaccination event - no appointment: first-come, first-served.
