Does anyone know of a central listing for airports/FBO's with courtesy cars. If not, I would be glad to start such a list on my website for everyone to view and use for free. Send me an e-mail with the location of the car and any other details you would like posted and I will see if there is enough interest to post the list. Sent the email to: gbrasch@rvairspace.com Should be interesting! Glenn

Hmmm, this could be interesting. Rare is it that I can't find a car to use to go eat even if there isn't an official courtesy car.

I use air nav for FBO info, which gives info on crew cars.

I hear ya', trying to create a state by state list that would be easier to use, vs checking each FBO on AirNav or wherever. Thanks.

Can you create a 'bot' to search those sites for courtesy car details? :dunno:

The airport car list now has almost 200 listings in all 50 states and Canada and is growing every day. The list is now neatly organized by state with all the entries on one page for each state (tip-when you view the forum if the states are out of order, click the "Subject" word and it will put them in order). Please help your fellow pilots by sending me locations you know have a courtesy or crew car or courtesy transportation to gbrasch@rvairspace.com The list is located here for you to bookmark or add to, you do not have to be a registered user to contribute http://forums.rvairspace.com/?forum=390646 And can you forward this email to your other pilot friends so they may add to the list? Thanks in advance.

We have one at S49 Vale, OR. there is a fuel shed, use the CTAF for uncontrolled airports to get in and get the key. All info is inside the shed.

Thomasville, GA - KTVI

We have 3 (and sometimes up to 5) nice crew cars to use. The city owns and operates the airport so the crew cars are all Ford Crown Vics or SUVs in excellent and CLEAN condition. YA'LL come!

Posted JR, thanks!

There are a few in Michigan I didn't see on your pages that I have used this past year.

KTVC - Traverse city - Harbour air has a crew car that they let you use for an hour or two if you want to go to lunch.

KMKG - Muskegon -Executive Air transport has a mini van with their logo plastered all over the whole side that they will gladly let you use.

KBIV - Holland - Tulip city has a crew car and the airport is attended but dont know if there is a fee (havent actually used this one)

The following are at unattended fields so I would call ahead and make sure its drivable when you want to use it and how to get a hold of the keys and log.

HAI - Three rivers has an old municipal car at the airport - just put replace fuel and make donation in keybox

HLM - Park township - has a sedan parked out front or in one of the hangars.

C04 - Oceana Co has an old municipal car at the airport - just put replace fuel and or make donation in folder located in the office.

I may be able to come up with more, but these are the ones off the top of my memory card at the moment.

Fantastic Fred, thank you, I have them all added. You have pushed the list over 200! Folks, please keep those entries coming, getting good feedback from fellow pilots on this.

Best thing, if you need one; just call the FBO before departure and ask/reserve one(it)

List is now over 300, thanks to those who have sent in listings, please keep them coming if you know of more airports with transportation.

KDYA Demopolis AL has a red ford crew car. The CTAF opens the electronic door lock and keys are in the visor. Town is 8 miles away. A splash of gas keeps it running.

KELD El dorado AR regional has cars. Usually available. Best to call ahead and let them know you will be there and where to get the keys.

KBDQ Morrilton AR has a crew van avail. Call the number listed in Air Nav to get the keys. Airport is unattended.

Not always. Example, KAPA has cars for jets and really high-end aircraft. You fly in with a spamcan, forget it. KFTG isn't any better. Canon City has no cars. Need one? rent for $45/ day. KFNL used to charge $10, don't know what it is now.

Crete, Nebraska (KCEK)
Lincoln, Nebraska (KLNK)

Both have crew cars. Call first.

I can't think of a time where I have been turned down when a crew car was available. Even Jet centers work if you dont act like a cheap skate. Have them fill up the plane and then ask for the car. ;)

Just saw this thread. You can also add KIKW (Midland) to the list. The car is an old beat-up SUV with multiple "issues", but it was driveable for short hops last time I was there, earlier this year.

Not many in CA. Maybe a few of the high end FBOs do it for jets, but the last one I found was in Monterey and they don't do it anymore.

Great advice. Also, remember that generally crew cars are meant for 4 or less hours...not all day events. If people replace the gas they use and take care of the vehicle then generally FBO's will keep offering them.

1A9, Prattville Al has 2. If you arrive during business hours you just ask, sign a log and off you go. If after hours, you need to call ahead for instructions on where the keys will be.

Santa Rosa left me use theirs and I didn't buy gas. I was delivering a plane. Great FBO. I promised them donuts in the morning and I delivered. Had the CSR back and full of gas by 7:00 am. ;)

Story time!

I have done a lot of CC. Slept in FBOs, walked miles to a hotel, and rode an FBO bike into town for lunch. One place in particular the gal behind the counter gave me her car for the night and she insisted on walking home. She lived across the street and insisted I just use her can and bring it back in the am. It was very nice of her, and I will never forget it.

I use AirNav to see if they have crew cars. Very accurate, call to confirm.

Ephraim-Gibraltor (3D2) in Fish Creek, WI has bikes and a courtesy van. No landing fee if staying for less than 4 hours, they ask for donations for the van, though.

Got it, thanks!

I've been into KAPA twice at X-Jet. Once got a Land Rover and once a Range Rover :dunno: I love my little R182, but it certainly isn't "high end".

KSDL has cars at both Landmark and Signature.
KCHD has two cars at the FBO
KRAP has four cars at the full-service FBO, self-service is not affiliated and does not have vehicles (or anything for that matter)

Thanks again, list now up to 325 entries.

I was at KPSX, Palacious TX, and they have a car. Instructions are posted on the desk in the crew lounge. Basically you call the PD dispatcher and they give you the code to a lock box with the keys.

It's an old police car. Not sure what you would do down there. I stopped in on my solo XC

Fantastic, thanks folks, posted. The list is now at 400 entries. All the latest entries includes phone numbers to call to make it easier. Time permitting I will go back and add phone numbers to the older listings. Please keep posting them or email your listings to me at gbrasch@rvairspace.com if you don't want to post here.

Sonoma Jet at STS has a Mini Cooper and a van. Used the Mini yesterday.

WHere is the information posted?

Should plot it on a google map?

KSJT - San Angelo TX - Mathis Field
Ranger Aviation has two Ford Focus and a van.

Also noteworthy is the Chinese Diner on the field.
