Couple IFR videos in FIKI SR22T

I don't see many IFR videos posted here that often, so thought you guys working towards your IR may enjoy something to watch to keep you motivated. I don't have any audio thanks to me plugging the input into the wrong jack, so I added some music. Enjoy!

1. 200' OVC Departure
Departing 2G4 Rwy 27 climb to 8000' - IFR IMC 200' OVC, Winds Variable between 290-320 @ 9 Gusting 19.

2. A relaxing descent through the clouds. Was known icing.
-5C Descending out of 17000', Only picked up very light trace a couple times.

Yup they where IMC.
 
Well at least you hand flew it for two minutes. Most cirrus pilots would have been on Autopilot by 1:15 :)

Now I really enjoy flying IFR, but honestly it's not really a spectator sport...once you enter IMC there's not much to watch really. Good luck with your videos.
 
I wish I had my cameras with me today. Went up for a couple practice approaches and the layer was from 1200-3000. Dark and gloomy down below, and a beautiful setting sun up above. On the second approach one of the segments had me at 3100 for a while just skimming the tops before descending back to the dark and gloomy underneath. THAT was spectator worthy.

I'll echo the comment about the SR22 as well though. Looks like one hell of a comfy ride there!
 
As someone who LOVES to post videos in LIFR weather with ATC, all I can say is thanks for posting these!! Very well done!

Isn't skimming the tops at sunset the BEST thing!!!!!

IMHO, there are few thing more exciting in aviation than that.

Pure gold!

My perfect setup (haven't quite had this yet) would be departing into 200 OVC and then have crisp tops skimming at 6950' and then drop back into the abyss for an ILS to 200'

That would even rival the awe inspiring beauty I was hit with full force when I visited one of the most spectacular AND remote sandbars in the entire Bahamas last summer as shown in this video!!
