Could There be a "Favorite Thread" List?

As I read things such as today's thread in Cleared for the Approach, I find things I want to save the links to. It would be even nicer to be able to save that thread in a "Favorites" area on a member's own profile. The idea would able me to save reference information for myself as an instructor.

I'd like to be able to refer back to that thread down the road or have a student refer to it by simply accessing my profile.

Is such a feature possible? :dunno:

At the top, under the Thread Tools menu, you can save threads using the "Subscribe to this Thread" feature.

To access the thread later, go to your User Control Panel (User CP) and List Subscriptions on the left side.

It doesn't not give others the ability to see your Subscribed Threads, though. It's just you that can see them.

That's interesting. I have a list of threads I had no clue I was subscribed to!

Kenny--I think it subscribes you by default to threads when you reply to them (configurable). The feature works nicely as it will show in the User CP everytime someone replies to that thread.

As far as a favorite thread list to show people...Just save the URL? It won't change.

I think it was set that way as a default at one time as those that were saved were from early 2007 and before. I vaguely recall changing the setting so I would not get an email. I may have changed the subscription as well. That's good as I don't want all of them, just a select few such as those in the training threads.

I'll make use of it now. I did set up a folder in Favorites to save URLs from PoA. As we continue to work on the website for our FBO and school, I'll set up student resources on a couple pages as well. I'll easily be able to place some PoA URLs on there for applicable subjects.

In addition to what's already been posted, you can create folders under your subscriptions and then assign threads to a particular folder to give you categorization capabilities.

Good question Kenny, and good answer Grant!

I sometimes go to the User CP to just look at threads I've posted in that have new responses, but I wanted something to save some of the really good threads. A new folder has been created.
