I took my written in '57 and would like to get a copy of the test from those days, can anyone help me? I am still an active pilot. Thanks.

I wonder how many decades it will take to see a PPL written question:
"What color is the line you follow when flying an airplane?"

Actually, I think I wonder even more about the answers:
- purple
- violet
- magenta
- all of the above

:D

Or, "At what altitude above an object, does that object appear in your Synthetic Vision?"

It's about time! There will probably be VOR questions for another 50 years, even after the last one has rotted and fallen into a pile of scrap.

VORs won't be going anywhere, anytime soon.

No, but they are slowly decaying and not being fixed. The ORL VOR at my home field has a handful of radials which are out of service permanently, for example. As they break, they are being left to die.

And I hear that they will be removing them (the questions).
That's not all that's going away on the PP written. According to AOPA, "Questions being deleted covered outdated topics including automatic direction finder/nondirectional beacon (ADF/NDB ); radar summary charts; the En Route Flight Advisory Service (EFAS); medevac; and transcribed weather broadcasts (TWEB )."

But I would still like to see a 1957 PP written -- that's before even my time.

Back when it was actually a "written" test
