According to a post that Greg Brown made on his Facebook page, Tony Condon is officially a Master CFI! Congrats, Tony!

Of course, those of us that have flown with him knew that already.

Congrats, Tony! :)

Thanks folks! I just got an email this morning that said they got my packet back from the review board, everything was OK, and what size of shirt do I wear? I was very happy to hear it. As Burt posted a few days ago, any instructor who does a good job and gives a damn truly is a Master. I just chose to go through the paperwork in order to get the tshirt.

Greg was very helpful, in fact if it wasnt for him I probably would've never done it. I had started some of the paperwork a long time ago, but slacked off on it. I started talking to him through mytransponder.com and he was very encouraging and gave me some good suggestions on how to get through the documentation issues.

That reminds me, I could use another IPC before the end of the month.

Now, Tony: get the Beech throw-over yoke waiver.

Waiver? I thought a throw-over yoke was fine as long as the pilot flying was rated and the instructor agreed.

In a Bonanza any CFI can give INSTRUMENTinstruction without a dual yoke but anything else including BFRs requires one. In a Baron you can't even fly under the hood with a safety pilot unless you have a dual yoke. I don't know what it takes but some CFIs have gotten waivers for all of that.

Not likely. I forgot you were working down there now. When will you be coming back to Ames (if ever)?

Ill be spending the night in Ames tonight. After that the next time I will be there will probably be May 9 weekend, for Leah's graduation. I'll have to see how planning works out that weekend and let you know.

I got my Pin, Plaque, and Shirt in the mail today. woohoo!

Congrats Tony. No easy task meeting all the requirements and then getting all that documentation. Good for you for doing more than what is required.

Thanks Laurie. The paperwork was definitely the toughest part of the whole deal.
