Not sure if the Gaston's crowd is prepared for it. She already turns heads (like 6 rows down) at football games during the national anthem.

We need to get our two wimin together, then. We could sell tickets!

Because of her singing, or her looks? :)

Not sure if the Gaston's crowd is prepared for it.

Heck, now I want to hear her sing even more!

I'll buy a ticket to the opening of the See-Jones Opera.

Speaking of "kiwl de wabbit", I snapped this at the market in Athens... :yikes:

I also learned about opera from my Italian barber, who wrote a fan letter to Luciano Pavarotti, "I will cut your hair when you are in Chicago" and ended up doing that backstage a the Civic Opera House several times.

He has the pictures. B)

Was the maestro wearing pants??

or just fun! When did Saturday morning cartoons go away? And why did they all change into commercials for toys?

Thank goodness for anime and manga!

Something having to do with cable and 24 hr cartoon networks. Kids can see stuff whenever. Cripes - when you only had maybe 6 channels to chose from, of course you would only see cartoons in a limited window.

I agree though -- there's something far less magical about cartoons now that you can see them 24/7. Scott, you don't have kids IIRC. Let me tell you, as a parent, it's disappointing to be able to plop in the DVD of "The Year Without A Santa Claus." As much as I love it, and in particular the Snow Miser, there was something magical about tuning in on that one night all year when it was broadcast. Same thing with all the Peanuts specials. :frown3:

Can't really tell. He's sitting in the chair and you only see him form the chest up.

I would guess it's a good bet since the pictures were taken by Vito's wife and she's in one of the pictures with Luciano. :) Come to think of it, they're standing with him in that picture.

You might have missed that episode of Seinfeld.....:D

You don't think it was her good looks and charming personality alone, do you? A masters in opera production from FSU is hard to resist.

It's not something that usually arises when talking flying.

Steve:

If I am not mistaken, I believe that the women in your family turn heads at football games without having to sing a thing... and there you are, smug grin on your face! :D

Other than hearing opera on radio or TV, I learned about opera by occasionally playing bassoon in opera orchestras, beginning with amateur productions in Boston back in the 1970s. Alas, the most recent opera company I have been involved with, in Capitola, CA, dried up and blew away a couple of years ago.

I consider the highlight of my musical career to be the time when I played in an orchestra with Pavarotti in a huge tent at Pebble Beach. Wow, what a treat that was! He was a tremendous musician. I believe it was a benefit for the high school of his manager's kids, or something like that.
