About to begin Almond harvest in California. I will soon find myself with hours to sit and not much to do ( during sweeping ) I have be wanting to start my Commercial , just because I enjoy the learning and I own my own airplane.

so

Are there any AUDIO / POSCAST I could listen to ??

and

To finish - a structured on line course ( after I'm done with harvest )

Thanks in advance- Rodney

For the online portion to qualify for the knowledge exam, it's hard to go wrong with the King course. A couple of practice exams at the end with the minimum pass rate will get you an endorsement to take the test.

It's almost a rite of passage having to sit through John King's corny jokes.

I don't know of any podcast to listen to, but you can always read up on the airplane flying handbook and The Advanced Pilot's Flight Manual by Kershner

I'd recommend two podcasts. AviationNewsTalk & Opposing Bases. I listen to both every week as I drive to the airport to Instruct.

To study for the Commercial Knowledge Exam, very little beats SheppardAir.

Just follow the study guide as it’s presented.

If future plans include CFI, study and thanks the FIA immediately after passing the CAX. The question banks have lots of similarities.

Will SheppardAire provide an endorsement? There is still 61.123 (c) and 61.125 to comply with. I don't know if that's part of what they do. As far as I know they help you memorize test questions and answers.

Sheppard Air, they do provide explanations along with the questions

Yes if you think that "the question has an odd number in it so you should choose the answer that is divisible by 3" is an explanation.

I second King Schools. Used their course for my PPL and IR, and then again CPL. Got 90%+ on all written exams.

I’ve also supplemented my learning with Jeppensen books, but found them to be lacking in certain areas.

Is it similar enough to just take without a new question bank? Or do you mean roll right into the Sheppard Air bank for FIA? I'm considering whether it's worth it to do this (it might make an interesting timeline to fit in both in 2 years while working full time)

@samiamPA ...

Walk out of doing well with the CAX..... once back in your car, call up SheppardAir, report your results and any surprise questions, and order the FIA.

Study FIA for about a week (maybe less), go take the FIA and do well.

While there may be a a few questions that are identical... the topics and answers come from the same material.
