Cold calling owner on a plane not listed

I have done this a few times with mixed results...

No response which is the norm..

A few that told me they sold a while a back which makes the FAA database suspect. Can't imagine a new owner not doing the paperwork.

One told me the plane was destroyed

Another told me if I contact them again they will seek legal action... what they hay....

And lastly, one that said yes and lets have a chat.. unfortunately we were not able to come to a deal.
 
I wasn’t going to chime in but since others have had examples of non plane related use of this method... I’ve written many letters to owners of dilapidated homes and told them my intentions. I’m not a house flipper, I’m just cheap. It is important to separate yourself from brokers. I tell them a little bit about myself and why I like their home. Never had a bad reaction. Bought both my main home and a beach house that way.
