Second hand info here, but apparently they had stopped at 06A for fuel, and the pilot heard a loud bang on rollout, but was too far along to stop, then engine died a couple of hundred feet off the ground. They put it down in a sod farm that is just NE of the field.
The salvage guys that came and picked it up said it would probably be totaled because one of the mains came through the floor into the fuselage.

Doesn't take much to collapse landing gear does it....

If they all walked away then it is a good landing. Won't debate the abort/run off the end vs depart thing. I've aborted and it can be hell getting it shut down.

I see a possible art project......

They should do that thing like they did with the Cadillacs in south Texas except with Cirrus.
Bury a few of them nose down in the dirt and let people spray paint em.

Hey @SixPapaCharlie, where's that thread of yours with the Cirrus Retract, Twin, Float, HighWing, BiPlane etc. ?

Wow! I'm based 10.4 nm from 06A, buy lots of fuel there. Haven't heard about this on the news . . . .

Glad everyone (appears) OK. Don't recognjze the sod farm, but when I depart 31, i go pretty much straight out or make a climbing right turn towards ATL. There are some open field under base leg for 13, though, maybe that's where he came down.

Paging Mulligan, you're not hedge hopping again are ya? :rollercoaster:

So they can crash without pulling....who knew!
