I got a few cool things - how 'bout y'all?

I got a beautiful model of a Braniff International Airways 707-320, the "Peace on Earth" one chartered in 1969 to bring care packages to POWs; also, a shirt with my tail number on it with a Bonanza image, a Bonanza sweatshirt and some of those cool slap-on sunshades.

Now: I know you all got some stuff, especially Grant and Leslie, so dish it!

Closest thing to flying this weekend ;)

Oh, and an IOU for the new iPad :)

i got a power cord for my garmin 396... which i needed after the other broke.
i also got $100 hamburger the book. Monday I'll be partaking in that tradition down at Brenham!

Nice duds, Spike; and I'm curious. When was N7892R initially registered. My N7872G goes back to November 1970.

It's sunny and 27° here on the island.

I did well...a new aircraft log book, a new S&W tactical flashlight and two great DVDs, including "Tailwheel 201"!!

Got the Hallmark ornament, this time it was the Hughes racer!

Also got the Spirit of St. Louis with James Stewart...had the VHS as a child and I loved it.

EDIT: Spike, awesome shirt!

2/24/1969; it was in a sequence Beech was using at the time.

Hey Spike, you got some good stuff (and deserve it!). Merry Christmas

Well, I got a ton of great presents.

1) Last year's Hallmark ornament - a Cessna 310!
2) A new watch! (with a second hand no less)
3) Getting to go play with the airplanes at the airport!
4) A secret present that I get next week!

But the best present of all was getting to be at home with the people I care about the most - something I haven't gotten to do nearly enough of lately.

Merry Christmas!

I got a Vera Bradley pen set, Craft Caddy from Michael's for my new scrapbook space, not to mention the new scrapbook space (new cabinets and countertop!), and an iPod Touch plus new cover to make it purple. :) There was a throw down with our wireless network this afternoon, but I did finally manage to get on the internet with my new iPod. I haven't tried to download an app yet... there are so many to choose from. "Angry Birds" appears to be the top selling app today. Only 99 cents!

Christopher got a new GPS and a digital photo frame for his office, AND my old iPod Mini from 2005. LOL... wasn't I generous??

Merry Christmas everybody!! :)

all I got was a rock.

A vast haul compared to what I got. I did, however, get to take my 100 lb,purebred mongrel up to the airport to check my plane after all the rain. My Bruce's Custom Cover is no longer waterproof. The insides of my glass was all fogged up, the carpet below the door was soaked. I spread the cover out over the wing and opened everything that would open to air and dry things out.

Murf and I went for a really long walk all over KMYF. He left a few gifts of his own. He tried to murder a rabbit, but wasn't quite fast enough. He did have a wonderful time though.

Tomorrow I'll go down to West Marine and get some waterproofing spray.

John

Nothing airplane related, which is unusual.

A jigsaw puzzle of the Phila Inquirer front page when the Phils won.
A Mandoline (it slices, it dices, it JULIENNES FRIES!!!!).
"Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk," the new book by David Sedaris.

Weird, huh?!

My 7yr old daughter gave my wife $21. In a fancy bag. She likes to give money. Last year we all got quarters, even her big sister. Of course, it ain't her money she's giving away....

I got some flying money with an accompanying funny certificate specifying that's what it was for, and some RAM mount stuff for mounting my iPad in the airplanes (yoke for the 182, window for the DA40) and the car. :)

EDIT: I almost forgot - A pair of Lightspeed Zulus. But I got those three days ago.

Mom and dad are in the Bahamas so we did gifts last week Friday. I got some 031 safety wire and accompanying tool, ceramic engine preheater, and an electric riding tug.

I guess I was a good boy this year...... a first!

A customairmodel.com model of our sundowner......should be in this week.
A beechcraft hat!
ear muffs for on the ramp
also got clothes and armani cologne

( I think you're one up on me. 2010 extends a perfect string of 12 years since I've heard a single word from my now 43 year old daughter who lives only 35 miles from here.

eck. That stinks! I'd take the rock over loss of contact with family!

As for me my present was a day on the slopes with hardly anybody there  Dang its good being Jewish on Christmas.

I am truly sorry. I have to admit, I was busy feeling sorry for myself on Christmas (everything closed, can't fly, wife sick, can't even watch a movie on TV or go splash out for a Chinese). You certainly have put that in perspective. I hope some day you will have a rapprochement. It would be better for all concerned.

Nice stuff. At first I was totally baffled by pic #3 until I put on my glasses and realized that the lettering on the shirt was in reference to an airplane rather than the physique wearing it.

I got the book "Soaring Beyond the Basics" and a model of a UPS 747. Leah got me a couple prints of my glider. I also got the movies Giant and Casablanca. I'm excited to see Giant. My In Laws also got No Country for Old Men. If only I had a copy of The Sunship Game we could have our own Marfa Film Festival.

Agreed!

I was in Toronto. The hotel gave me a stocking with a couple of small candy canes, some cookies (tasty!), and a couple of tangerines.

But my kids are still talking to me! :)

Yeah; I've become used to it. The last time we spoke was at my father's funeral in April 1998. Her mother twisted(poisoned??) her mind from the time the child was four years old, and our separation. And in the early 90s a quote came back to me, "I'm his only heir. I know he has a nice house, airplane, boat, and motorcycle. When he dies I get everything." Surprise! There are legal documents that can derail those factors.

In response to the Christmas card I sent to her the following e-mail message arrived: "YOU MUST BE DRUNK." Fact is, I've never been drunk and don't intend to start now.

But Christmas was very pleasant. My former(2nd) wife called me at length from Florida. She had been here for a week at Thanksgiving. Dinner was cooked by a lady friend at her home; and the 26th she and I went to LL Bean(15 miles away) where she gifted me with new ski clothing. Then it was Patriots, Chicago, Green Bay and whatever others flowed into her 48" screen during the rest of the day. The world is good; some just have twisted perspective.)

HR (As for the additional settings I asked where are the others.
"No, there are just the two of us." It was a feast).

We still love you, brother!!! :cornut::thumbsup:

My dad is a former Braniff 707 captain and was flying for them about that time. I'll have to ask if he remembers that event.

Nothing aviation related for me, though Leslie got (well, she bought herself :)) a monogrammed flight backpack from Sporty's that we got at AOPA Aviation Summit.

Now to see if she'll be able to use it this year!? We'll know in five hours.

Bonanza sweatshirt and some of those cool slap-on sunshades.
Love the shirt.

What are slap-on sunshades? How do you get them to stay on your glasses?

Is that a possum on your wall? We're getting inundated with possums here lately. Several are surrounding the house at night now...often on the deck looking in the kitchen door at us.

Nice stuff. At first I was totally baffled by pic #3 until I put on my glasses and realized that the lettering on the shirt was in reference to an airplane rather than the physique wearing it.
Wayne, you are so bad. ;)

I got an iPhone 4. Still trying to figure out how to use the new stuff on it. Last year Tom gave me money for a new iPhone and I decided to use it on fuel for my grass strip tour. This year I decided to go with the phone and find another way to fund my flying around to grass strips.

We received the DVD "History's Most Extreme Airports" from my mom and started watching it last night.

At your birthday party Tom told me he thought about getting you a bicycle, but was concerned that you would be peddling it all over town.

All you need to do to get rid of them is to build a road.

Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?
A: To show the possum it could be done. :D

Love the shirt.

That's my wife.

Turns out she bought another one, too - it was in the shape of an A36 (straight tail), so she bought another shirt. I have two, both with my tail number, one V-tail, one straight-tail.

They are big (8"x 10" -ish) sheets of tinted vinyl, they cling to plexiglas, so you can place them wherever they need to be to block glare. Used 'em today on the way home from N'Orleans, they work great!

Indeed, it is a possum. Possums are filthy, disgusting creatures, but we like them for some twisted reason, so we have a painting of one in our living room.

Wayne, you are so bad. ;)

This surprises whom, again?

We did something totally different this year. My wife and I picked a bunch of things that would be fun to do and spent December doing them, instead of buying gifts. You can only wear so many shirts and my wife ran out of ring fingers a decade ago.

We went to concerts, museums, gardens, and shows. It was a little expensive but lots of memories.

Liked it.

Spike,

Do you have a link to someplace that sells these? They'd be great in the DA40... Thanks!
