Choosing a "public benefit" flying organization

About the tax deduction: that went away with Trump's "tax cut" that limited deductions to $10k. That doesn't go far in a high property tax state like Texas.

Several posters have correctly taken exception to this. Let me rephrase. The combination of the $10k state and property tax deduction limit along with the greatly expanded standard deduction have made the standard deduction the more attractive way for me to file. YMMV, but I don't have enough other deductions to make up the difference between $10k and the standard deduction for Married Filing Jointly.

On flying dogs, I have 4 coordinators that I will fly for and that's about it. They are almost always getting abused or abandoned dogs out of Texas (major population control problem) to established rescues in Chicago, Milwaukee or the quad cities. I now prefer doing the people flights. I enjoy talking to them and don't miss the smell of dogs.
I'm sure your interior probably thanks you as well.
