Change GTX33 ICAO code

So but of a weird install question. So GTX33 installed in experimental aircraft without head unit. So it should just squawk 1200 without a way to change it.

I assume it needs to be connected up to a Garmin G1000 or another one of there platforms in order to change the ICAO/N-Number.

Are you trying to install a transponder, without installing anything to control it? If so, why? What does that accomplish for you?
