Tach reads 150rpm low.

Don't worry about it?

Replace? If so, with what? Cost is my primary.

Don't replace it. Book airframe hours using tach time.

If you want the correct engine rpm then get the Ei electronic tach.

Overhaul. I am getting mine done now. Mine reads 200 rpm low. Changing was an option but the shop said they need 5 weeks to match tach numbers...god knows why, I chose to overhaul.

Last time I replaced mine I got a Mitchel through Spruce. Including matching tach time and 2nd day air I had it in 4 days.

I just added a EDM-830 and ignore the mechanical tach when setting power. It's about 150 low as well.

.you might be able to placard it at 3 levels and have a proper log entry by a&p. the large digital one is great had 2 one in 182 and one in 210
