Hey all I’m currently a student pilot and I own a 1975 Cessna 150m I just payed to have an intercom and headset jacks installed. Me and my instructor went to fly today and my mx300 will not transmit ive had intermittent issues with it previously and now im certain its getting replaced not repaired with that being said i can buy a brand new mx300 for around 4K but im not sure if its worth it to do so I plan to upgrade to dual gi275s and a garmin 355 gps/com after my ppl is complete if you where in my position would you buy a brand new mx300 that can slide in to my existing bracket and use the wired in intercom i just bought its a cheap 200 dollar sigtronics but the install was close to 2k all in and it hurts but I can’t waste more more then I already have should I just wait and upgrade to the garmin ive been wanting or would it be better to get the mx300 and start flying again and run that for awhile not sure if it will be worth anything to sell it in a year when I’m done with the new mx300 if I go that route any advice will be greatly appreciated thank you in advance I’m not made of money but I can’t keep wasting what I have doing numerous installs I want to just get the job done and fly safely this is 150m

Not sure what you mean by "brand new MX300". TKM went out of business 2 years ago.

That entire post is a run on sentence of messy gibberish and is practically unreadable. It doesn’t appear that English is your second language (I could be wrong), but it seems you’re just lazy and don’t give a cr@p?

Punctuation. Sentence structure. Use of paragraphs. Proper grammar. Please, give it a try…

There is a brand new old stock mx300 on spruce right now ? I guess you don’t search much just talk on forms like this other guy

It's a 150 you plan on selling in a year? Get a radio with a builtin intercom and be done with it.

Hey, I asked for clarification. Thanks for the explanation, but no thanks for the bad attitude.

Didn't know you could talk on forms. Or forums for that matter. It's all typed in, unless you link it to a yt video or something.

Damn dude, did I touch a nerve? Man, this post is no better than your first one. And no, I'm not a miserable POS and I'm pretty happy in life as a non POS hater grown up. But hey, thanks for checking!

But seriously though, when you show up on a forum asking questions, why would you post in a way that makes you look lazy and/or stupid? Try to put at least a little effort into being somewhat comprehensible, perhaps even up to a 6th grade level of English and grammar; you might get more helpful responses that way.

Welcome to POA student pilot!

Dual 275s and a 355 gps is going to cost you 30k or so. Do you have a nav radio? You might want to consider the gtn650 with dual 275s or if you want to save money get the G5s, they are a bit cheaper and I think Garmin has 2 for $5200 right now. Whats your adsb situation?

TKM radios aren't the best but they work OK. They are out of business but I've read there's a place that still repairs them:
If they can fix it, that may be your cheapest option, at least for a few more years.

You may want to look into a Garmin 215 for under $5K that will integrate with everything you plan to get in the future, or find a used SL30, for under $4K. The SL30 is absolutely rock solid.Installation will be more, of course.

For the short term, the MX300 slide in might be your best & most cost-effective option, since you can do the remove/install yourself. Close to same price as the 215 or the SL30 but no install costs.
