Central Texas Taylorcraft Fly In - April 12-14

Tower closures do not bother Fort Parker Flying Field. We are a sequester free zone.

My Stinson is still in annual. Guess I'll show up in the Comanche...

Second Annual Central Texas Taylorcraft Fly-in starts tomorrow!

All flying machines welcome! Classic taildraggers celebrated!

Show up as early as you want starting tomorrow, Friday the 12th. Cook-out with music tomorrow night (play something? bring it). Camp-out showers and toilets are on site. Rooms for rent still available, call 254-729-5253 for them.

No fuel on site but available at Mexia/Limestone County KLXY. Also have av-gas fuel cans and can drive over and get fuel.

Please reveiw all airfied info at http://www.fortparker.com/

Come and enjoy good flying, fellowship and food.

Jed, it looks like you had a good turnout. :) Wish I could have made it.

It was good.....Friday had 13 aircraft show up, then 10 stayed overnight. 5 T-Crafts, 4 Cessna 140's and 1 Stinson (who came 310nm)......Saturday there were 23 airplanes on the ground at one time, and 1 helo.........5 aircraft stayed overnight Saturday, with the last one leaving at noon on Sunday.

Saw some visits from first time types. 2 Maules, a SeaRay, a Comanche, a Stinson and a Zenith (who knew TV's could fly?).

A hot air balloon launched from inside the Old Fort Saturday morning and a friend of Ron Posey brought out some remote controlled helicopters and airplanes.

Photos can be found at the website. http://fortparker.com/

Better see you here soon!

Did you fly the helo?

Zenith (who knew TV's could fly?).

That's funny! :D

Glad to see that you finally had a balloon there. Love the balloon photos. :)

It's still a goal of mine. I've postponed meandering around Oklahoma and Texas until after we get back from Europe...probably in June.

It was the local EMS helo, they try and make most events.

Nick the balloon guy and crew could not have been nicer, and set up a movie screen Saturday night. We watched "Dr. Strangelove" with them.

What a neat airfield Jed and his helpers have developed! Thanks for the kind welcome, Jed. I wish you much success. You have done an outstanding job. We'll definitely be back. Sorry that I didn't have the time to stay longer, but I have a lot to do out at my little airport. :yesnod:

That's neat. :) Have you flown that kind before?

Sounds like fun! Makes me wish even more that I could have made it.

How is Texas in June?

For the past two years the first 5 days have been tolerable.

That's neat. :) Have you flown that kind before?

Hate to say, have flown most every kind.

It will be hot, but we have plenty of shade and water

Thanks, and understand that. I can work from sunup to sundown, and after, everyday, and still not get done all that needs to be done.

Come back again soon, and I will get up to your place soon.
