Tower closures do not bother Fort Parker Flying Field. We are a sequester free zone.
Got the plane reserved, hoping for great weather.
It was good.....Friday had 13 aircraft show up, then 10 stayed overnight. 5 T-Crafts, 4 Cessna 140's and 1 Stinson (who came 310nm)......Saturday there were 23 airplanes on the ground at one time, and 1 helo.........5 aircraft stayed overnight Saturday, with the last one leaving at noon on Sunday.
Zenith (who knew TV's could fly?).
A hot air balloon launched from inside the Old Fort Saturday morning and a friend of Ron Posey brought out some remote controlled helicopters and airplanes.
Photos can be found at the website. http://fortparker.com/
Better see you here soon!
That's neat. Have you flown that kind before? It was the local EMS helo, they try and make most events.
Sounds like fun! Makes me wish even more that I could have made it.Nick the balloon guy and crew could not have been nicer, and set up a movie screen Saturday night. We watched "Dr. Strangelove" with them.

What a neat airfield Jed and his helpers have developed! Thanks for the kind welcome, Jed. I wish you much success. You have done an outstanding job. We'll definitely be back. Sorry that I didn't have the time to stay longer, but I have a lot to do out at my little airport.
