I don't have the number off the carb because the plane is in service and doesnt have the cowling off. I need the carb number or the number for the float for a Marvel Shebler carb on a 1996 Aviat Husky 0-360 engine. The carb number starts with I0-360 (or 0-360) (it is NOT fuel injected of course!). We want one of the newer plastic floats. Neither Aviat nor Aircraft Spruce can give me the number. They both say "look on the carb", but Im hoping to find it some other way because I dont want to take off the cowling and put it back on except once. Hope you understand...

Any help would be appreciated.

try a flashlight and inspection mirror

You got what you needed for this time. A suggestion for the next time, though. Use the camera on your phone to photograph the area of interest that you can't easily access (in this case the carb's data plate). No need to see the field of view. Just point it in the general direction and take a number of images moving the alignment slightly between shots. One will get what you need. The advantage of this approach is that you probably always have the phone with you, while you may not have a mirror handy.

Who is assuming they have the correct carb installed?

I have found recently you can't find the correct parts on line for the newer yellow labeled carbs.
