Looks like a Honda VTX. Honda made two sizes. 1300 and 1800 cc.

You are correct. My brother has a Shadow but it's been more than a few days since I saw it.

Doing a bit of a search makes it appear to be VTX ... or did I swing and miss twice?

Honda VTX, probably a mid- 2000's model. Dunno if it's a 1300/1800 engine, but looks like a 1300 model. Uncle of mine has a VTX 1800 and rides it constantly, never gives him problems. Similar to my father's Yamaha (Star) Stratoliner 1800.
