Had job interview yesterday which increased my chances of working in Laramie 10-12 days out of the month.

Initially I will be commuting when weather permitting from Tulsa in my soon to be new t182t. It crossed my mind if I get out little late and don't want to fly the entire trip where along the way could I just stop and toss out my 1 man big Agnes tent, sleep and take back off in the morning?

I'm sure many small places probably don't care and would have at least a bathroom accessible.

Any thoughts or locations where this would be particularly accommodating in eastern Colorado or western Kansas.

Check the AF/D. And airnav. Between the two, you should be able find the list of airports that have support for camping.

Pretty much any of the airports in eastern Colorado allow camping. We've camped at Yuma and Fort Morgan.

Airport camping is great. Bathrooms with running water (sometimes showers), plenty of flat space for a tent, and you don't have to schlep your gear anywhere. Just toss it out of the plane and set it up.

I would suggest checking out the American Air Campers Association. It was semi-recently acquired by Pilot Getaways magazine. A subscription to the mag gets you full access to the AACA database. You can search by state, amenities, etc.

According to their database K58 allows underwing camping and has both restroom and shower facilities. You may want to call for more information. If you don't care about showers...the database lists a few airports along your route that that you should check out.

When you have access to the data, they'll tell you where on the airport they'd like you to camp and who to contact for more information.

Good luck!

I met those folks at Sun-n-Fun and they were very nice and forthcoming. Your suggestion is great and I was going to make it, but read your post and wisely, decided not to.
