Came across this today. Beech 18 conversion?

More specifically a Volpar Turboliner with Garret engines.

I remember seeing 2 of these on buzzards row in Anchorage. I had heard someone was going to resurrect them, but that has been over 20 years ago so no idea what ever happened to them.

Just another way to take a beautiful airplane and make it fugly…
According to the line guys, the delivery pilot couldn’t get away from it fast enough. It has been sitting for a week with no takers.

The conversion doesn’t do anything for me.

There was one where I did a lot of my training. Guy came in to land and forgot to put the gear down. Q-tipped the props, pulled up, dropped the gear and landed. Don't know how many years it sat there.

Obviously, the charm and style of the original is diminished, but I'd take it anyway.

When Beech 18s were a dime a dozen, it was easy to justify ugly mods to make a cheap airplane make more money.

Transnorthern was flying a couple of them and to my knowledge still are.
