CACI-Qualified Asthma, FAA still wants docs

Title basically. On my medical form my AME noted that I had caci qualified asthma after reviewing a status report from my PCP. However, after a deferral for a separate issue the FAA wants me to send them the letter anyway. Not a big deal as I'm already sending a packet but I don't understand why they would ask for it. Any ideas/similar experiences?

I suspect that the person reviewing typically wants the full airman's record even if there's no way the conditions would interact.
