I live in Nor Cal and fly out of KLVK. Does anyone know where I could fly the gf within 2 hours in a c172 to see it? All the good places seem they are in So Cal and pretty far away.

New Cuyama (L88) is probably 2 hours from KLVK. Soda Lake is just 12 miles north of there. The entire Carrizo Plain is full of flowers right now. I don’t know about renting a car there since I’ve never tried.
You definitely could rent a car in Paso Robles and drive there or just drive around Paso.

One day maybe. My gf is from there and wants to go, but it would be too long of a flight for her. So looking for something a bit closer.
