Busted the Presidential TFR

Just more security theatre brought to you by the same guys who gave you the TSA and the rest of the alphabet soups security agencies. Thinking about them makes me want to do some teabagging myself.

TFRs have just shown in this case and others that they are totally inneffective as well. The guy's jet was on the ground and he was gone before anybody even got there.

Of course they're ineffective. They're there because we like show-off security...

Sorry to resurrect an old topic, but has anyone ever seen a spec on how fast the 396/496/696 can display a pop-up TFR after it gets entered into the system?

The update rate on TFR's through XM WX is 12 minutes:

Obviously it also depends also on how long it takes for the TFR to propagate once it becomes official, but I'd be very surprised if that wasn't entirely automated, so I'd imagine that would add less than a minute.

In any event, a 135-qualified pilot rated in a Citation ought to be smarter than to allow this to happen.

Yep. TFRs are dumb, but so is blundering into them.
