Brook made AV web again

Brook has a gift for composing shots - and taking them to match her vision! That last part nearly always eludes me.

Good on ya', Brook!

Veeeery nice pic. Brooke!

Also, I noticed Kate's sunset picture made the POTW as well!

Thank you Diana and everyone. I am glad you like my photos.

I was thinking....I hadn't posted any pictures (since last photo that was shown on PoW...ya know the balloon one) and I thought people were going to put Gaston's pictures up on Avweb so I opted for something a little different.

Right after I came back from CA my 99's chapter had an airmarking at Elizabethtown, NC (EYF) and I wasn't even going to go since my ride cancelled on me. (my car is getting old and I don't have money for a new one so I try to save on miles, gas, etc.) I love airmarking so much that there was NO WAY I was going to miss it.

That morning I called the airport to see how to get there. He said it would take about 2 hours or so. When I arrived lunch was being served. So of course I ate lunch before working. I mean can't work on an empty stomach right. Hah hah hah. Then I went out and helped with the lay out of the letters...the chalking, the taping etc. Then my favorite part....THE PAINTING!!!!!

I realized I had left my camera in the car so I walked out to get it after a few of the letters were painted. I took a few more pictures from the outside the airport grounds.

http://flickr.com/photos/hpnflygirl/2585465925/ Brian - pilot of the fly-by

When I went back to the airmarking I met two pilots Brian and Mr. Taylor. I asked if there was anyway I could go up with either one of them to snap a picture from the air. Mr. Taylor wasn't flying that day and Brian was late for an appointment. Though Brian did however offer to do a fly-by with the smoke on. I though...HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!!

Brian soon took off (from the runway not the taxiway) did a practice low pass then flew back over the taxiway the second time and I snapped the picture. :)

It was funny hearing Brian and Mr. Taylor talking on the radio..."Did she get it?" "Do I need to do another low pass?" I looked at Mr. Taylor and gave him the thumbs up sign.

Im so happy. (tear).

I don't know if any of you guys at Gastons noticed the yellow specks on my shoes but they are yellow specks from this airmarking. :)

Thanks again everyone.

Dr. Bruce...when do you want me to come and take some photos for Lifeline Pilots? ;)

Kevin...I need to find the picture I took of your prop at the Fly BQ 2007. Im sure that one would have gotten PoW as well. :)

I didn't know I'd be up against such strong competition this week! Nice picture, Brook! I looked through some of your Flickr shots also. You do take nice pictures!

I'm impressed! Congrats on the AvWeb Blue Ribbon.

Thank you Kate. I thought your photo was very nice as well. I was surprised that it wasn't in the top 3.

Good job Brook, way to go I like to take pictures as well. But I have never had one that good. Bob

Pretty soon Brooke will have to start an aviation photo business.

That would be cool. Too bad I don't have enough time to take off work to go to OSH. I think I would be able to get some pretty good shot there. I have never been before, though I would like to go one day.
