Bought a Boogie Board

I thought you meant one of these:

I'm as much of a gadget freak as anyone, and the gadget's pretty neat, but I'm not seeing the advantage over paper with this one. Explain?
 
If using for everyday stuff, are you able to save the image of what you write? Can you print from it?
 
There is a version out called the Boogie Board Rip that allows you to save what you write and upload it to your computer. The version I got doesn't have that, since I don't need to save clearances. The "Rip" version has mixed reviews as well.

For some reason, I find that I'm always running out of paper to write on, or can't find a pen or pencil that works, so that's why I got this.

That's what I thought too. The type of "Boogie" in the photo was invented by a dear friend of mine of over 40 years, Tom Morey.

No kidding, you knew Tom. He sure opened up the waves to many people. I met him once on the beach in San Clemente...Poaches. I guess that's Capo.
 
Looks kind of cool. I'll have to talk someone else into buying one, like a coworker, to see how "cool" it really is.
 
Well, I got this device in and it's pretty neat. It is extremely light and pretty thin, much more so than my Android tablet. Writing on it feels fairly natural, so I think it may actually work well for rapidly jotting down info, although I haven't tested it in the plane yet.

I had read some complaints online that there was no place on the device to store the stylus, so I bought an elastic strap that I slipped over it that has slots to store a couple of pens, or in this case, a stylus. The picture attached also shows the device next to my wife's running watch for a basic size comparison.

I used the Boogie Board for an IFR training session today. I kept it in the pocket on the pilot side door and it worked really well. Not all that much to say about it other than so far it looks like it will be a good way for me to replace pen, paper and a clipboard.
