I got a call from Rick Hancock, and the date in my pilot's log book says 9 /11/99. It seems like Burns, OR. had a day rodeo and Vale had a night rodeo. In fact it might of been just a bull riding rodeo, too long ago to remember that. Rick said he needed a bull fighter that was in Burns and he wouldn't have time to get from Burns to Vale by car. He wanted to know if I might be willing to fly up to Burns and bring back three people to Vale. I said sure I could do that for the Rodeo Board so I got my plane readied and on the selected time I headed for Burns. When I got there the three were Bill the Bull fighter, still in his dress of cut off pants, stripped socks, basket ball like shoes, red stripped shirt, red suspenders, and had his face painted up with a big red nose. The other two were connected to the B bar D rodeo contractors, that furnished stock for the rodeos. Dan Durfey and his mother Jolene. Dan was usually a pick up man for the rodeos and his father owned the stock along with a partner. Now I got the word that this clown in the right front seat had gotten sick one time when he was flying, but on this flight he did fine in that department. I still remember thinking how odd that clown looked flying along in my airplane with that big red nose. We got them back to Vale in plenty of time as it is just a little over 30 minutes normally. Another good flight in my 1959 Cessna 182 B skylane.~~~8~~~
