We'll that's what you get for thinking. Hence my post.;)

Never said it was me.

I am by informing/reminding "certain" people that the honorable thing, your words, is to honor your agreements.:)
Okay.

Thanks folks for sharing all your stories. You are hard working and determined to get into the air, no matter what.

My parents were blue-collar (Dad transit authority/flight line at an airforce base and Mom a teacher). I'm a software developer. Always interested in aviation, but didn't actually start lessons until a week after paying last tuition for daughter. Got my light sport, then private, and just finished up instrument rating. I'm trying to decide what to do next while taking a breather from instrument training. That's the hardest thing I've ever done. Would like to own a plane and fly more. Need to get re-focused and work towards those goals. You all are pretty inspiring.

I’m an assistant manager... at an automatic car wash... It took me many years of stopping and starting training to complete my ppl but that was due to me trying to have several hobbies. I had about 25 hrs total when I finally decided I was going to make flying a priority and gave up the other stuff to make it happen. I flew once a week and got it done. I had plenty of people basically telling me I couldn’t afford to fly. When I stopped listening to them is when I started making progress.

Funny story about blue collars. The announcement emails at work are in German and then translated at the bottom for us dumb Americans that can’t speak the language. The other day they sent out an email that included a phrase about the blue collar workers (hourly assembly line folk), but they spelled it wrong. Instead it became the blue color workers. I guess we’ve gone Smurf.

Your premise is insulting, and is part of the perception that aviation is a "rich man's game."

I think it's a game for rich people who wish to be poor, using the fastest route possible. :D

I don't see many cardboard signs saying "Annual Overdue. Anything Helps. God Bless" around here.

I think you just created the premise for the next @SixPapaCharlie youtube video....

The latter sounds like a plan.... Or, perhaps a go fund me page?

"Old duffer can't afford a plane... Please help!"

Sigh... I guess I'll keep renting...
