nope, definitely didn't. an instructor from my old school died along with a student. 
I'll be at the airport tomorrow, I'm steeling myself for the visit. I keep thinking about that kid. unbelieveable. they may have been in the pattern and banked too steeply on crosswind, from what I can tell so far.
