Best V tail Bonanza model?

Thanks, Jeff. Is the performance much different between the 260 and 285hp models? I want one that flys great, but still want good performance.
Other Jeff here.

I had a 1959 K35 Bonanza (2950 lb MGW) with 260 hp IO-470-N and stock airframe (no speed mods, not even the ubiquitous sloped windshield), with a bunch of draggy antennae atop the fuselage. It trued out at 155 KIAS at a shade under 11 GPH LOP anywhere from 8,000' to 12,000' feet.

Had it up to 16,500' once, and it still trued out at 148 knots.

My 1960 M35 with the 250 hp would do that, but only after I installed the sloped windshield.

On a side note…

To get rid of the V–tail waggle… install a set of vortex generators on it.

It will stiffen up the ride like you can't imagine, and climb like a homesick angel.

It will cost you 3–5 mph though
