Best GA Access to Estes Park?

We may fly out to Estes Park this summer to visit a nephew working at the YMCA there. I’m thinking KFNL as a destination airport (flying in from mid-Missouri) and then rent a car from Loveland to Estes Park. Rocky Mountain NP web site recommended Cheyenne, but that seems to be a bit more of a drive.

Thoughts from the Colorado folks? Midwest people who’ve made the trip?

KFNL it is! There used to be an airport IN Rocky Mtn National Park. Long gone though.

Yes, KFNL. Nice place, good services. Further south are KLMO, KBJC, KBDU with better access to Denver and Boulder.
Also, the Collings Foundation’s B-17 and B-24 will be at KFNL in, iirc, mid-July.
Hope to meet you for a beer, too.
