Beechcraft down in Sylmar

FlightAware lists N136RM as a "Aircraft Type Beechcraft Bonanza (single-turboprop) (BT36)" ?? Turboprop.?
 
NBC's report says it was a 1980 "BE33". FAA registration database says it's a 1980 A36TC. Google links to a photo of a nice-looking piston A36TC with modern paint and tip tanks.
 
Still breaking news. The broadcast news claims the pilot declared an emergency and was trying to land on Interstate 5, but it was congested, and landed in the field. The pilot was conscious when good Samaritans rushed over to help but could not extricate him. The fire department used the jaws of life to remove him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
According to one report, it's a friend of mine, Scott Watson who worked at Disney. With fingers crossed I so hope it's not true.
