Icing caused both engines to fail?

Icing conditions were prevalent in the area at that time. Glad to hear there were no injuries. No parachutes, either.

That is an incredibly busy stretch of the Thruway. Pretty stunned he didn’t hit anyone. And snow all over the area. What an imbecile.

Good grief. How?!?
I say that but I also taught swimming in college and had more than one student show up (always men) who'd already signed up for rowing (and been on the water) without being able to swim...

Years ago I had some work done on my plane by the business that owns this plane. It's a flight school and rents aircraft as well as offers maintenance and avionics services.

If it was fuel exhaustion, they miscalculated their fuel by a lot. They were still a long way from their intended destination.

My alma mater (one of them, anyway) had a swimming requirement for students. Freshmen show up for orientation, and one of the first thing they do is take a swim test. If they pass, great, if not, they are automatically enrolled in beginning swimming for gym credit. I always thought that was a great idea.

I thought the fuel was 108 gallons ,burns anywhere between 14 and 22 gph. Looks like good piloting skills.another good outcome no matter the cause.

The landing was chef's kiss. The ADM... not so much.
