Final Approach
Some of us are planning on flying to Beaumont, KS tomorrow for brunch/early lunch tomorrow. Looks like Tony is going, maybe Barb will fly with me, and hopefully Kim will be going too. Anyone else care to join us?

Okie dokes.Too damfar. How about I fly up to Cedar Mills Marina and we talk on the cellphone while we eat?
We're bringing some folks from Kansas City. My former CFI, Gene Linder, and his wife are flying down. We have invited the Bailey's, too. Phil has asked two other people as well, but no word yet on whether or not they're coming.....
Should be fun.
Master welder and L-2 owner and my buddy....he's 77 and still flies his 3 airplanes from his private field, Cowchip, in Paola, KS. He's still feisty.....Is Gene the guy guy who had the L-2? or who was a master welder? That's a familiar name from my KC days.
We wanted to eat early since Tony has to leave at noon or a little after noon to get back home in Iowa before dark, so we plan to meet at 11:00.What time?!?!?!
(I knew I shouldn't check this thread!)
Well, if you aren't bringing anyone else, can I just ride with you? I promise not to touch any knobs, levers, or gadgets and won't comment about your landings.Yes, yes, yes,
I'll either see you there or at the farm at about 9:30.

Okie dokes.Sure, I'll see you about 9:30.
She is selling her bull (he was a bad boy) and she needs to be home tomorrow when the men can be there to help load him up.Barb's not going?

Wasn't he west of Louisburg on a private strip close to the cider mill for a while? or was that somebody else? Gene showed me how to rebuild the old (leaky) fuel tanks in my L-2 many moons ago. The same L-2 is now rebuilt again (this time profesionally) and waiting (hoping) for engine STC that may never happen.
He had several bad habits...one of them was constantly tearing down her fences.I wanted my bulls to screw around. That's why I bought them. So what's the deal with hers?

He has completely rebuilt two airplanes (one of them I crashed ) since I've known him. He is still in the same place, by the cider mill.
And he didn't like her arias........
I had to look that up...thought it might have been a cow part.
...tempting.
191 nm * 2 = 382 nm
382 nm / 110 = 3.5 hours
3.5 hours * 10% = 3.9 hours
3.9 hours * $107 / hr = $417 brunch.
$417. Renting sucks. I'll think about it....
I'm out... Can't justify that. Need to save to buy an airplane
I'm sorry you won't be able to make it. But, saving money to buy an airplane sounds like a good plan.I'm out... Can't justify that. Need to save to buy an airplane
Oops! Well, we'll take lots of pictures of it for you.I'd love to come but someone stole my airplane!
Renting sucks.
If you think renting's expensive wait until you own one!
(by the way...heads up...it's the same way with women!)
<running and ducking and bobbing and weaving>
:wink2:
Wayne, I was actually going to call you and give you a hard time while we were all together at lunch, but I had NO cell coverage in Beaumont....dangit!Too damfar. How about I fly up to Cedar Mills Marina and we talk on the cellphone while we eat?
It's quite unique, isn't it.A good time was had by all....Beaumont is the cutest little place I've ever seen. I'm sure this was the first of many trips we'll make there.....
Nice pictures!Photos from today...
You are a very wise man.since the women won't let me take their photo
Right after you left a few friends flew in to visit. Bruce in his Citabria and Mike in his Cessna 140. It was a great day of flying and visiting with good people.
Tom had our good camera, but I got a few shots with my iPhone. Is that FlyBaby enchanting, or what?!?! Tony is also rather photogenic.
rather photogenic, in the 'please god get me out of this freezing cold cramped uncomfortable airplane after 4 hrs' way.
