Just got back from five days at the Pelican Bay resort at Freeport in the Bahamas. Flew our Tiger down along with another Tiger couple -- once again, I can say that Fort Pierce Jet Center is most definitely the way to go for one-stop shopping as far as both advice and equipment to make the crossing. We also really lucked out on perfect weather both last Sunday headed south and yesterday headed home. Folks in Bahamian Customs and Immigration were their usual low-key, cooperative selves, and the US Customs at FPR were equally easy to work with. Great time, great weather, great relaxation -- and I'm already thinking about next year.

Cool, glad to hear that it went well. I may be down there myself sometime in February and I can't wait.
Nice to know that customs wasn't too bad on either side.

Sounds like a great trip, Ron. Wish we could have been there :( . For a lot of reasons just wasn't right for us this year.

Ron. Glad you had a great time and nice flight. A friend of mine got back to central PA from the Bahamas in an Arrow II in seven hours. I'd suspect you did about the same.

Ron, I have to say that the Bahamas sound more appealing than Hawk's cay (although that is nice, too).

Feel free (no, feel compelled) to publish anything and everything you like about your trip and all the various machanics of it. We are going to the islands at spring break, circumstances cooperating.

Thanks in advance for anything and everything you're willing to share!

Brush up on formation flying...

...would you have to slow down for me, or the other way around?

Sorry, no photos.

We went pretty much direct KFPR-MYGF each way, maybe 45 minutes Tiger-time for the 100 nm trip. You can shorten the overwater leg by flying down the coast to PBI before turning east for about a 60nm crossing.

The mechanics of the trip are pretty simple -- just fill out the paper they give you at Fort Pierce Jet Center according to the instruction sheet they give you, file your DVFR or IFR flight plan each way (you'll have to give copies to both Miami IFSS and the Bahamians for the trip home), and go.

glad it was an easy trip for you Ron...Never had an easy time at Ft. P clearing customs... Did a trip to Marsh Harbor one time...I can highly recomend that to you.
