The twin I have access in is expensive and aux tanks are inop - that means 50 gallons total fuel. It would be comical range and a million stops. Swinging through Charlotte would be something like KARR-KRGA-KJQF-KSSI-KFPR-MYEF. The ARR-RGA and FPR-MYEF legs would barely with IFR reserves.

All you need is a receipt showing you paid for it. Technically need a radio operators license, too... literally just money paid to the gov

I thought 3/11-3/18? Right now I have access to a plane 3/9-3/16. I have a commitment 3/17-3/18.

As far as location, I've been flight planning MYEF. That island seems to have cheap lodging, but I'm easy. I think I'm going to plan my own lodging, since my dates might be different from others.

As far as status, I have plane, a Class III PFD (need to see if that's good enough), and I just ordered a customs sticker for the plane I've rented.

i am planning 3/15 - 3/19.. i cant do a week, but can be down wed-sun

MYEF seems to be the best balance between lodging, restaurants, bars, etc. Good spot to base. I found a pretty nice 2br house right by the airport for me and @N4984R, unless anyone else wants to chip in and get a different place.

what dates did u book? how "close to the airport"? gimme an idea where to look.....

I go on call on 3/17 so I'd have to be back by the 16th the latest.
 
I’m still waiting to see if my wife can come. If she can’t, I can’t really justify renting the Bonanza for just me. (If I still have access to it, which is a whole other issue). If it’s just me, I’ll be begging for a ride.

Haven't clicked the book button yet, but 11-18th. It's 1.2 miles from MYEF

Which brings up a good point. When is the best time to book? If it was refundable, I could book at any time. I’d want to be near you all.

if you looks on vrbo, then most places give you full refund before a certain date, then drops to %50 refund by another date and the point of no return on another...
There are other options as well.

I guess I was thinking of the strategy of having confirmed lodging and then based on occupancy or availability beds/timing, cancel and switch. Provided cancellations are free etc. also based on my timeline, I may hit Bahamas Friday.

I found a place that’s 100% refund until 5 March. This would also help if I change the dates.

Where’s your place? How many spots available and for which dates?
 
I'm booked at a small place near Three Sisters from 3/11-3/16. The place has quite the liberal cancellation policy, so if we get to critical mass in getting a bigger place, I'm happy to switch.

So, you, my girlfriend and I, David and his wife, Frank and his wife confirmed booked, so far. @simtech said he might be looking for a pet friendly spot to join us. Anyone else?
 
KFPR no longer rent rafts. Their rentable life jackets leave a lot to be desired. The life jackets were first come first serve and your couldn’t reserve them ahead of time. When I went last April I purchased 2 life vests from West Marine. Way too long of a flight to risk not being able to rent life jackets
