The boy can certainly slide around in a Fiesta. Hate to say it, but I bet I could smoke that thing on my race bike without all that sliding around. Fortunately for everyone, I'm not about to find out any time soon.

What'd they do with the innumerable residents of the City by the Bay? Place looked like the aftermath of the zombie apocalypse.
 
I think that first shot in the video Kim posted, with him driving across the bridge, is probably a personal record for Block - longest distance he's ever driven a car in a straight line.

I would love to know if that was on a Top Gear episode (haven't watched the YouTube video yet). If yes I will watch tonight on my Netflix.
 
Who did the Top Gear Segment where the driver drove like a madman at an airport and around various aircraft and hangars?
 
Ahh the joys of living in the dreary midwest, where no one drives cars at dangerous velocities around fragile aircraft.

I don't even need to click that link, I loved the one reliant robin episode I saw where one of the hosts tipped over like a hundred times. I laughed so hard that day it is one of my favorite episodes. I will watch both of the two episodes you mentioned tonight.

Well while you're at it, Kim, you should probably just start at 1x01 and work your way up. :goofy: It's only 18 seasons, with 6-7 episodes per season. If you don't sleep or work you could have them all done by the end of the weekend!

I saw the edge of space, and, though I've seen MANY Top Gears, I'm actually working on doing what you just said already. Every night I watch however many Top Gears I can, starting at the beginning, on the Roku. When I am not watching Top Gear I'll watch Dirty Jobs or Mythbusters or some stand up comedy (most recently Bill Burr and Lewis Black).
 
Or TED talks, but that is pretty dorky so most people won't know what that is. I like their robotics experts.

I LOVE the Ted Talks! I really want to go to one. There's one on Netflix that is all their humorous speakers from over the years...incredible! It's some of the smartest, funniest, and wittiest stuff I've ever seen.

"Would you look at that! A Starbucks! I think it's time, for a cup of joe." Lewis Black is awesome. Watch George Carlin, too. I spent a large portion of my time in college watching Carlin instead of doing homework.

You are quoting him from the old people forgetting stuff one.

I don't remember the exact line but he talked about using old (land line) telephones that were really heavy to stop a puma from attacking you. Just throw the phone at them. Oh and his Britney Spears impression from the superbowl was hilarious.

You must be my evil twin, watching the TED talks. I found out about them on PRX on my XM radio (public radio remix). They play lengthy TED talks all the time.

Ken Block does cool stuff, because he has a ton of money. Watching him and Pastrana try to run actually rally type events is amusing, especially when they are on TV, ala the X-games. They really don't know do anything, but yet the commentators would have you believe they've won every race ever done.

True. I was more trying to point out the fact that fancy tricks in driving solo don't mean squat on the course where it counts.

Kinda counts...

What really counts is keeping sponsors happy so you don't have to work a "real job" for a living, and can drive. This dude's got that made in the shade, so he doesn't have to drive hard on the course. :)

Times around the track are only good for bragging rights at the bar. Getting and keeping sponsors is the real game they're playing.
