Available fuel in a Piper

Try it on a Piper with 4 tanks.
I only ran a tank dry once - on my first full day as a pilot after my checkride.

It's really hard to use up all of the fuel when you have 84 gallons.

The lowest I ever got it was when a fill up was 56 gallons, meaning I had over an hour and a half of fuel left but I would have to know where it was.

I time the switching so I have that 1 1/2 hours left when I'm looking for a place to refuel and I never run a tank dry on purpose.

Calculated an hour left. Put in 75 gallons, 86 usable.

Dry tanked 3 of the tanks.

Not uncommon, why do you think fuel exhaustion is at the top of GA stupid pilot tricks list? Although that is 1/2hr of fuel in a Bo the way I fly it. If one tank was empty and the rest in the other, he flew it right to the numbers.
