I'll throw in a curveball. Toyota Tacoma?
I'm looking at trucks at the moment, and either I don't get something, or they are seriously good value for a lease deal.
" $254.00 per month for 36 months. $2,653 due at signing includes $2,399 down payment and first month's payment. No security deposit required"
Lease-end purchase 21860, lease payments total at 9144.
The cheapest F150 lease deal I can find is 329/month for 36 months, 4609 due at signing, and only available for existing F150 customers.
Is the F150 a much better truck than a Tacoma?
I'm 32 and I've purchased eight vehicles in the past ten years between my wife and I and I could never make a lease work with my kind of mileage...
Over the years I owned:
06 F-250 Crew Cab 5.4 Gas - 238k mi
06 F-150 Lariat (wife's first new vehicle)
11 F-150 Extended Cab 5.0 4x4
13 GMC 1500 SLT Crew Cab Short Bed 4x4 (worst purchase ever)
14 Mini Cooper...when the Mrs Hated the GMC so much she started driving the old farm truck.
14 Ram 3.0 ECODIESEL (see earlier post)
And now...finally my '16 F-150
Why Ford over the Taco? Well, I'm 6'6. The Tacoma is smaller than the new Colorado.
But why the Ford?
The 16 was a stretch for me because of the aluminum body, but it was a no-brainer after everything I factored in....reliability, performance, and most importantly these days...the Avionics stack. Why settle for a KX-155 (which is exactly what my 13 GMC felt like) when you can have the G-1000.....
The Sync3 is amazing. Picks up the Bluetooth instantly...the interface with Spotify works great, the touch screen is great, the dash screen is awesome. Everything is graphical and intuitive.
The nav is amazing as well.
The black leather with ass heaters and coolers and the dual panoramic sunroof are quite possibly the best two inventions I've ever had.
Mind you, this is the first vehicle of my own (not Mrs) that has had leather seats.... I never treat myself...but hey.... she got a Maule and I got a truck...
I think JB could chime in better than I, as he is a dealer.
But, I just got a flyer from ford for a lease on a 2WD 2.7 EB SuperCrew XLT for $259/mo. 24mo/24k 4500 due at signing...
Now the 17 F-250 does it for me....but at 70+ for a lariat, I'm going to have to hold out for a few years.
