A couple years ago is pretty recent I suppose. Not a whole lot has changed really except, like you say, fees. Plus they repaved one of the runways.Define recent.
Definitely do visit. It is a great airport. If you’re lucky you’ll get the controller who’s always in a great mood and goes in strong for the “seeyuh’s”. Haven’t tried the restaurant myself but judging by the way it’s chalked up to be in this thread I think I will soon.I am adding Bowman to my places to visit list. Looks like a great airport and restaurant
There's a historic hotel downtown called The Seelbach. It's incredible. Ask for a tour. It's about a 10 minute Uber ride from Bowman to downtown, and the hotel to the museums and bars is walkable.I am adding Bowman to my places to visit list. Looks like a great airport and restaurant

It's a special memory for me, as it's the first place I took my wife on an overnight in the airplane and showed her what kind of travel an airplane allows. Got her excited about it. Made the "hey, I want to buy this plane" discussion much easier.
Couple blocks away is the Brown hotel, also a neat one. Birthplace of the hot brown sandwich. In a similar vein is the Speed Art Museum - which is about what it sounds like with something for everyone. There's a historic hotel downtown called The Seelbach. It's incredible. Ask for a tour.
